Belleair Country Club

1 Country Club Ln., Belleair, FL, United States

Belleair Country Club is a growing and progressive town in Pinellas County. It started off as a remote resort town belonging to Clearwater City until the historical Belleview Hotel was constructed in 1896. The hotel drew a lot of interest from tourists which later on caused a demand for a residential neighborhood in the area itself. The first subdivision of golf homes in the area was built in 1924 which was key for Belleair's separation from Clearwater City. After World War II, the town was left in ruins but the boundaries were already established for its eventual rebuild in the 1950s.

Belleair is notable for having the first golf course in all of Florida. The golf course which originally belonged to Belleview Hotel later on expanded and became two separate golf courses under Belleair Country Club. Today, the community has two 18-hole courses, both mainly designed by Donald Ross with the help of fellow golf architects; Stephen Kay, Gene Bates, and Matt Swanson. These courses are two of the few waterside courses in the US and have now their own Olympic-size swimming pool, fitness center, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and spa; not to mention the clubhouse popularly known as a wedding venue and banquet place. Please see the full list of golf facilities shown in each of the Golf Course Summaries below for more information.

With a population of 4273 individuals in an area of 6.58 square kilometers, the community is overachieving for having its own stable government. Its self-sufficiency is its greatest asset considering the town has its own police department, sewage system, water treatment plant, and electric utility company. Belleair Country Club also has its own entertainment center that is well organized wherein Belleair citizens no longer have to go to other cities in order to seek amusement. Movie houses, parks, shopping centers, and its marina are popular destinations for Belleair citizens and tourists alike.

Apart from golf, Bellaire Country Club is notable for being a sports-minded community. The town is dedicated to promoting wellness, health, and fitness among its citizens. Given the different sports facilities which are part of the community's amenities, Bellaire constantly organizes leagues and tournaments involving different sporting events to keep the community active and its youth engaged in various sports.

Belleair is originally a resort town but can be technically considered as the first golf town in the entire State of Florida. No wonder why the first residential establishments in Belleair were golf houses and golf estates apart from the obvious beach villas and cottage-type shelters influenced by the beach surroundings. Aside from being engulfed by Clearwater Bay, Belleair is also known as a green town that heavily promotes nature conservation and tree planting movements to preserve its verdant environment with a refreshing sea breeze all throughout. When looking forward to residing in Belleair Country Club, expect to enjoy breathtaking views and a relaxed environment even from the comforts of one's home.
