Betmar Acres is an active 55+ community with over 1,600 golf homes set among landscaped common areas, community buildings and recreational amenities. It is a community of warm friendliness with many activities and social events to keep residents engaged and connected.

In 1966 Florida had only four mobile home parks. Seizing an opportunity, Mr. M.H. Meengs bought 200-acres of farmland along Highway 54 in Zephyrhills, including a caretaker's home, which is the present Betmar realty office. Mr. Meengs and his partner, George Sprinkle, named the park Betmar for their wives, Betty and Mary, respectively. Fifty years later, this golf community remains an exceptional place to call home, with a true extended family atmosphere among its residents.

Located in Pascoe County’s sunny Zephyrhills, this golf community is just 45-minutes northeast of Tampa and is also close to St. Petersburg and Clearwater. Betmar is also just 45-minutes from the beautiful gulf beaches and is only an hour's drive from major attractions, including Busch Gardens, Disney World, Epcot and other Orlando theme parks.

Most golf homes in the neighborhood are mobile and manufactured homes priced from approximately $61,000 to $262,000 and ranging in size from as little as 648-square feet to more than 1,512-square feet. Built from the early 1970s through to 2019 these golf properties offer 1 to 3-bedrooms and 1 to 2-bathrooms, and include a cozy living area, split floor plans, 1 or 2-car garages, large master suites, and more. The annual association fee is around $440 and provides for common area maintenance and security.

Individual lots belongs to the homeowner and are not leased or owned as a community share. Betmar has approximately 124-acres of Association-owned common grounds, including its clubhouses, golf course, swimming pools, tennis and pickleball courts and other facilities. The community's very reasonable annual fees are due to the park's non-profit status and the commitment of many resident volunteers who work tirelessly to contribute to the many activities available to residents.

Activities in Betmar for its 55+ residents include plenty of recreation and sports such as golf, tennis, shuffleboard, swimming, miniature golf and darts. The club also provides social events, including monthly dinners, breakfasts, music, and theater and holiday events. Residents can also join clubs that cater to their specific interests, such as gardening, chorus and choir groups, theater and dancing.

Betmar has three community buildings commonly for community's activities, such as monthly dinners and breakfasts, theater and chorus performances, weekly dances, club meetings, cards and other games, and much more. It also has two swimming pools, each with a therapeutic whirlpool spa, available to resident members of the Aquatic Center swim club and their guests.

Other facilities of note at Betmar include its excellent shuffleboard courts – considered some of the best facilities in central Florida. The club hosts local, area and state tournaments regularly. Betmar also has bocce ball courts open to all residents, a gazebo and a pavilion available for club and individual resident functions, and a dog park.
