Thanks to the Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey, the City of Sarasota has long been associated with the circus and the Bobby Jones Golf Club community is located along Circus Boulevard, with Glen Oaks Estates as the primary village right in front of the golf course’s entrance. The Bobby Jones Golf Club is a publicly accessible golf complex that is right in the heart of Sarasota City so it’s not surprising that the influx of people coming in and out of this area is quite high.

The golf community is a mixture of detached single-family golf homes, golf villas, apartments, and condominium buildings. The neighborhood is just 15-minutes away from the gulf beaches to the west while nature reserves surround the golf course making it quite common to see wildlife and rare species around this area. The vegetation from the trees and shrubs that surround the golf courses and the separate sections of the community provides a green environment for residents to enjoy and gives the entire neighborhood a naturally calm ambiance despite being in the middle of a city.

The Bobby Jones Golf Club is made up of three excellent golf courses: two 18-hole layouts and a 9-hole short course. This municipal golf complex is a popular landmark and city destination which is why the Sarasota government always allots a budget for the improvement and maintenance of the facility. The golf club is currently undergoing a major renovation to rebuild the courses which were becoming tired due to overuse due to the number of visitors that frequent this remarkable golf club. There are also several other excellent golf courses in the area but most are private, leaving the ever-popular Bobby Jones Golf Club the most visited among all the golf clubs in this area.

The Bobby Jones Golf Club community is mainly a residential area but there is no lack of commercial centers and business establishments around the area. Circus Boulevard ends at North Beneva Road and this area is filled with shopping malls, and restaurants, and is the most easily accessible commercial district for residents of the Bobby Jones Golf Club community. The opposite end of Circus Boulevard leads to 17th Street, the main road that leads to major highways that will grant access to nearby cities and towns.

The Bobby Jones Golf Club also takes pride in its nature trails which are a well-known tourist attraction in their own right. A lot of the community’s residents get their regular walking and jogging fix here and there are also many cyclists who make good use of the area. Photographers also love the location as the bird and wildlife of the area along with abundant green spaces that make for beautiful views are perfect for the hobby.
