Coto De Caza is a census-designated golf neighborhood and is one of Orange County's oldest and most expensive master planned communities. It has a population of approximately 15,000, with more than 4,000 golf homes. This golf community gained much attention from the hit Bravo TV show The Real Housewives of Orange County since most of its casts lived there. Coto de Caza is an ideal location for those seeking rural privacy without being too far from the city.

Coto de Caza, Spanish for "Hunting Reserve," began its development in 1968, when it was envisioned as a hunting lodge. The golf community was completed in 2003 and includes Los Ranchos Estates, a 355-acre rural community of 75 large custom homes. Los Ranchos Estates is a separate private golf neighborhood just behind the gates of Coto de Caza.

This 4,900-acre private master planned residential golf community is an eco-recreation neighborhood with facilities that include the Coto de Caza Golf Club with its two 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, an equestrian center, aquatic facilities, and a fitness center. It has a 475-acre wilderness park, 40-miles of hiking and equestrian trails, and 21 community parks.

This golf community offers golf homes for sale, lease, rent, and investment opportunities. It has more than 4,000 golf properties spread over three areas: the North, South, and South Bend. Types of golf residences available include townhomes, single family detached golf houses, golf estates, and lavish equestrian estates. A few custom lots are also available.

The main streets are highlighted by a near-endless white fence that borders the equestrian/hiking trails that run through the community Another notable feature of this golf neighborhood is its surrounding California Live oaks, sycamores, pines, camphor trees, liquid ambers, California peppers, and other native trees.

The children of Coto de Caza Golf Club can attend A-rated schools, including Beacon Park, Oxford Preparatory Academy - South Orange County, Wagon Wheel Elementary, Las Flores Middle School, Portola High School, and Tesoro High School. The community offers many public parks and trails, including Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park, Coto De Caza Dog Park, Wagon Wheel Sports Park, and Gene's park – making it ideal for families.
