Eaglewood Country Club is a gated golf community that is a single-story low-density development that started in 1984. It comprises only 300 single-family golf homes and villas to ensure the community maintains a private and tranquil environment.

The golf properties are built around Eaglewood's centerpiece, an executive 18-hole golf course. A par 57 links type course that measures only about 3,105 yards from the longest tees. The golf course was designed by Ward Northrup. The layout makes use of the undulating landscape of Hobe Sound with lakes added and the greens surfaced with Bermuda to make the course more demanding. The golf course has a slope rating of 80 and a course rating of 54. Though considered as an easy course, it can still provoke par players as the links course can be unpredictable. The design of the course has a strong par 3 with a forced carry over on water on 10 of the 18 holes. The setup is your classic old Florida golf with well-maintained greens, considered one of the finest in the area.

Eaglewood has a practice facility for pitching and chipping and a putting green area. There is a resident golf pro who can provide instructions where needed. A pro shop is also available for those needing golf accessories or merchandise. Rental services for clubs and carts are also offered.

Guests are allowed to play but must be accompanied by a member. Homeowners become automatic members and are entitled to unlimited games of golf with no greens or trail fees. Most owners use their golf carts which they also use to drive around their community.

Eaglewood has a 3,000 square-foot clubhouse that serves as the hub of social activities for the residents. It has a ballroom where it serves as a venue for parties and dances. Other rooms in the club include a card room for hosting games, a crafts room for the use of the arts and crafts club, and a library with hundreds of great titles where residents can just read and relax.

Other facilities at the golf community include a heated swimming pool with a hot tub, 2 soft-surface paved tennis courts, 2 bocce ball courts, a picnic area, and a dog park.

Outside the golf community, multiple places of worship along with a shopping market, restaurants, and medical clinics are easily accessible. Residents can also enjoy the numerous coastal beaches located a few minutes away. Or take long walks and enjoy the wildlife at the Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge and Jonathan Dickinson State Park which are less than 5 miles away.
