Fountains Country Club is situated in the middle of Palm Beach County in the City of Lake Worth is a golf community for families and ‘over 55s'. This 865-acre development opened in 1972. It consists of 1,763 golf homes sprawled across spacious land with initially three championship golf courses - the North, the South, and the West Courses, and two clubhouses as its centerpiece.

This gated development features 19 villages offering condominiums, townhomes, single-family golf homes, and up to 5,000 square foot golf villas. Most golf homes within the community have spectacular views of the golf courses or lakes.

The condominiums, both mid-rise and high-rise, and modest townhomes are located in the northern part of the development. The residents in the villages also have their community pools to enjoy. The golf properties in the north cater mostly to retirees and only a few are golfers and club members.

The villages at the south located below the canal, contain the more expensive medium and large-sized estate golf homes. Families or the more affluent take up residence in this area. They are also more supportive of the club.

Due to changes in the market demographics and the cost of maintaining a costly Country Club with 3 championship golf courses and 2 clubhouses, the golf community voted to divest from the Country Club business. The Country Club was sold to Concert Golf Partners, a professional golf club company. The new partner will manage the country club and membership to the club will no longer be mandatory for residents. Part of the arrangement involves closing the North Course and parceling off the area to new developers. This move will soon open up 4 new villages with new golf home offerings on the north side of the Fountains.

The new development will consist of 1,050 golf homes. These will be townhouses and rental apartments. A portion of the townhouses will cater to workforce housing (price range of $140,000 to $260,000) and the rest for the upscale market. The rental apartments will consist of 14 new buildings.

The newly managed Country Club facilities are accessible to residents through a selection of new golf and social memberships that are more affordable. Members can take advantage of the South and West Courses and the clubhouses and their amenities.

The 36-hole championship courses were designed by the team of world-renowned golf architects Bruce Devlin and Robert Von Hagge.

The South Course opened in 1972. A par 72 course, it measures 6,783 yards. It is more scenic and popular and serves as a venue for PGA Qualifying Tournaments like the Allianz Championship and the Honda Classic. The West Course opened much later in 1981. Longer than the South at 6,793 yards, it is a par 71 course. Both courses are tough and challenging but player-friendly.

The club also offers a 15-tee, 300 yards driving range, a pitching and chipping area, a practice bunker, and putting greens. This is supported by a Golf Academy, a 1,200 square foot Pro Shop, and a rental service for clubs and carts.

Other amenities include 2 clubhouses, with a 52,000 square foot main clubhouse, a 17,000 square foot sports complex with a state-of-the-art fitness center, massage rooms, sauna and spa, a card room for men and women, a tennis complex with 12 Har-Tru courts, and a Tennis Pro Shop. Truly a place that suits everyone with an active lifestyle.
