Keystone Golf and Country Club

294 SE 43rd St., Keystone Heights, FL, United States

Situated in Northeast Florida, about 25-miles northeast of Gainesville and 58-miles southwest of Jacksonville, is Keystone Golf and Country Club. Like so many of the many towns and cities in Florida, this golf community began its development during the Florida Land Boom of the Roaring Twenties. Keystone Heights has since retained much of its historical charm and laid-back nature and remains a quiet neighborhood with many beautiful golf homes.

Originally intended as a winter resort, this golf community attracted more year round residents by the 1930s and became a summer playground in the 1940s and 1950s. As the population of this golf community grew, it attracted retirees and weekend residents from Jacksonville and Gainesville.

Some of the many amenities residents enjoy include boating and swimming in local lakes, using the golf course at Keystone Golf and Country Club, and tennis courts. The area also has an airport, known as the Airpark, which was first used as a training field during World War II, but is now owned by the City of Keystone Heights.

The golf neighborhood at Keystone Golf and Country Club offers luxurious golf homes as well as more modest golf properties that feature various architectural styles from numerous builders. The community is comprised of single-family homes, golf estates and golf villas with a broad range of sizes and prices.

The community’s detached golf houses range from just 672-square feet to over 7,000-square feet. Lot sizes are generally big – a major attraction for many golf home buyers with families. These golf homes are priced up to approximately $1,225,000 and open lots are also available from 0.34 to 7.36-acres and are priced between $10,000 to $90,000.

Common features in many of the Keystone Golf and Country Club golf homes include gourmet kitchens with granite countertops, inviting outdoor spaces, expansive great rooms, open floor plans, formal dining rooms, and master bedroom suites with walk in closets. Many of these properties also have hardwood cabinets, a cozy living room, volume ceilings, a large backyard, a private pool, and more. Some golf homes even have their own horse stables, chicken coups, a fully fenced perimeter for extra security, converted garage space for extra room, and the like.

With less than 2,000 residents, Keystone Heights offers residents a rural feel, and most locals own their homes. Many families and young professionals live in this community, and residents tend to be conservative. Keystone Heights is community where real people live and work. The main business district of this neighborhood lies along State Road 100, whose route is northwest and southeast as it passes through the city.

The downtown area provides various businesses showing this small city's self-sufficiency. Residents will find everything they need including medical offices, grocery stores and supermarkets, boutique stores, and banks. There is also a library and city hall. The children of Keystone Golf and Country Club can attend A-rated schools, including Keystone Heights Elementary School and Keystone Heights Junior/Senior High School.
