Lake Orlando Golf Club

4224 Club House Rd., Orlando, FL, United States

Lake Orlando Golf Club is a Florida golf community that offers an assortment of golf properties that vary in size, price and style. It is a suburban neighborhood that provides plenty of nearby amenities and activities for its residents.

Surrounding the Lake Orlando Golf Club’s former golf course, the community’s luxurious golf homes feature various architectural styles from numerous prestigious builders. The community is comprised of single-family homes, golf villas, and townhomes with views of the waterfront or the golf course. Golf properties range in size from 1,519 to 2,500-square feet and are priced from $100,000 $325,000 for the villas and townhomes, while the more expensive and expansive single family golf houses can have floor plans in excess of 4,500-square feet.

Common features of these golf homes include solid surface countertops, new kitchen appliances, hardwood floors, inviting outdoor spaces, expansive living rooms, and spa-like bathrooms. Many of these properties also have matching entry walks, hardwood cabinets, a cozy living room, an enormous master bedroom suite with walk in closets, volume ceilings, a swimming pool lanai area, a large backyard, and more.

The centerpiece of the Lake Orlando Golf Club community is the 183-acre Lake Orlando, which was originally named Lake Wekiwa. Alongside this is was the club’s golf course which was designed by Lloyd Clifton, Sr. in the early 1970s. After the course's closure, a new 128-acre urban development is now in the works. The new project will be a pedestrian-friendly "urban oasis" with grocery stores, food markets, social seating areas, retail, public art, smart parking garages, shared bike paths, walking and running paths, sustainable construction, and more.

This golf neighborhood is one of Orlando's first master plan developments that was created in the early 1970s as part of the Rosemont development zone that allows developers to get preferential tax treatment in exchange for developing in economically-distressed areas. The zones are designed to spur economic development and job creation while lessening the expenses for developers.

Residents in Rosemont are close to daily conveniences and necessities such as Walmart, Nick's Family Diner, ATL Deli, The Home Depot, Icon Park, Orlando Science Center, Ripley's Believe It or Not!, and Skull Island: Reign of Kong. The children of Orlando Lake Golf Club can attend A-rated schools, including  Rosemont Elementary School, Beryl Wisdom Adventist School, Tomorrow's Hope Hi Tech, and Avalon School.

The golf course at Lake Orlando has been closed and sold to Lake Orlando Land Owner, LLC. The new owner plans to transform the entire community of Rosemont into the most dynamic, urban, and inclusive golf neighborhood with an abundance of green parks and plenty of opportunities for everyone to enjoy.
