The fairways are Bermuda grass and the putting greens are resurfaced with Ultradwarf Bermuda grass, acknowledged as being among the best-putting surfaces available. It is a challenging course known to test bogey players. It has a slope rating of 132 and a course rating of 72.9. Golf Legend, Sam Snead, became the Resident Golf Pro Emeritus from 1988 until his death in 2002 after winning the World Mixed Championship Golf Tournament with Joanne Carner in 1983.
The golf course is complemented by a 33,000 square foot practice area. It offers 40 tees driving range, pitching and chipping areas, and putting greens.
