Meadowood is a 190 acres golf development that opened in 1983. The private golf community has a 24-hour manned security gate with roaming security in the evenings and offers community services like water, sewer, basic Comcast cable, and common area maintenance. The golf properties in this exclusive community include condos, townhouses, single-family golf houses, and estate golf homes with varying lot sizes.

Meadowood's main feature is a well-maintained 18-hole championship golf course designed by golf architect Charles Ankrom. This par 72 golf course is 6,808 yards long. The fairways are Bermuda grass and the putting greens are resurfaced with Ultradwarf Bermuda grass, acknowledged as being among the best-putting surfaces available. It is a challenging course known to test bogey players. It has a slope rating of 132 and a course rating of 72.9. Golf Legend, Sam Snead, became the Resident Golf Pro Emeritus from 1988 until his death in 2002 after winning the World Mixed Championship Golf Tournament with Joanne Carner in 1983.

The golf course is complemented by a 33,000 square foot practice area. It offers 40 tees driving range, pitching and chipping areas, and putting greens. A teaching pro is on hand to give professional instructions. The pro shop offers golf merchandise with a complimentary rental service for clubs and carts.

Another main feature of Meadowood is the Tennis Center. The club has 5 professional Har-Tru (clay) courts. 3 of the courts are lighted making evening play possible. Clinics are also offered to members year-round to improve their skills.  The facility also includes a large meeting room for social gatherings and activities like organizational meetings, a computer club, art classes, mahjong, and duplicate bridge sessions.

Other amenities found in Meadowood are a community clubhouse, locker rooms for club members, a swimming pool, and a restaurant. The restaurant offers lunch and dinner as well as catering services for special occasions like weddings, parties, celebrations, and corporate events.

Meadowood Golf and Tennis Club is a public golf course but guests must be accompanied by a member. The club offers several types of annual memberships for the single, family as well as corporate. The memberships are designed to suit one's lifestyle. The memberships may be for golf only, tennis only, both golf and tennis, and social which allows the member to use the pool. There are also options for limited golfing privileges, seasonal, and summer golf memberships.

Meadowood is situated in a secluded area of Fort Pierce but within a 4 to 5-mile distance from a Walmart, Home Depot, groceries, pharmacies, and banks. The Indian River Mall is approximately 12 miles away. And the beaches of North and South Hutchinson Island are only about 15 min driving distance.

The nearest airport to the club is Melbourne Orlando International Airport which is 50 miles away. Palm Beach International Airport is a bit further at about 70 miles south. While Orlando International Airport is approximately 105-miles.
