The plantation is a premier city, situated in central Broward County and connected by State Road 7, Sunrise Boulevard, Flamingo Road, and I-595. Located among thousands of trees are safe, friendly neighborhoods such as the community surrounding the Plantation Preserve Golf Course and Club, world-class recreation establishments, and a stable business community supported by three distinct business districts.
The City of Plantation was established in 1953 and over the last 65 years, the City has developed into a growing, vibrant city - 22-square miles in size, with a population exceeding 94,000.
Golf properties within the Plantation Preserve community are made up of luxury golf estate homes on oversized lots, along with more affordable golf course homes, golf villas, townhouses, golf condos, and waterfront homes that are reasonably priced. The City of Plantation offers many fantastic amenities, including the golf facilities at the Plantation Preserve Golf Course and Club. The golf community has also expanded its park system with two new signature parks - Plantation Woods and Camp Everglades. The City also offers, the Helen B. Hoffman Plantation Library - one of the few municipal libraries in a county where most are regionally operated
There are ten public schools available for elementary, middle, and high school-aged children, and numerous daycare, charter, and private schools. The City's business districts include Plantation Gateway, Plantation Midtown, and Plantation Technology Park.
