Vero Beach is home to some of Florida's most popular residential golf course communities. Riomar Country Club and the neighbouring communities of Riomar and Riomar Bay offer many golf homes for sale. The country club's residents enjoy a semi-secluded tropical paradise and easy access to many of Florida's premier tourist attractions.
Also referred to as Old Riomar, Riomar Country Club's neighbourhood of single-family homes is a non-gated community. Notably, Old Riomar has no Homeowner's Association. The lack of formal community association is relatively rare and stems from a private, refined neighbourhood culture with a bit of an independent, laissez-faire personality streak.
Club membership in today's Old Riomar is characterized by the same community culture that disinclines residents to HOAs. Residents may belong to the Riomar County Club, but they also may belong to a different club, multiple clubs, or no club at all.
Riomar Country Club is not only popular with golfers but is a highly sought community for families as well. Old Riomar feels a million miles away, yet the neighbourhood is only a few blocks from the heart of the island's downtown. Beautiful oak tree-lined streets with homes and golf estates on the course, as well as ocean and interior locations, provide potential golf property buyers with plenty of choices. Riverfront houses are also available in the nearby Riomar Bay community.
The architectural styles throughout the community are mixed, although a clear preference is shown for modern Mediterranean Revival, British West Indies, and retro-Florida Cottage styles. Though quite disparate at first glance, these design directions are all allied by flawless attention to detail, pristine maintenance and manicuring, and a refined sensibility.
Those looking for an active and social lifestyle need look no further than the Riomar Country Club. This private, member-owned club exists solely for the enjoyment of its members and is committed to excellence in all areas of its operations. Its purpose is to provide golf, dining, bridge, camaraderie and opportunities to gather socially in a congenial, harmonious and understated atmosphere.
The club's 18-hole layout is Vero Beach's oldest private golf course and reminiscent of the Mid Ocean Club in Bermuda. Short in length by today's standards, but long on difficulty, seven of the front nine holes are by the ocean giving it a fantastic atmosphere. The course is maintained in fantastic shape and has an emphasis on hitting fairways as the tricky green complexes are true tests of skill, especially when coming out of the rough.
