Situated inside a 1,300-acre property, the Riverwood Golf Club is a gated, deed-restricted community that offers approximately 1,323 golf homes divided into 29 smaller neighborhoods. Consisting of single-family golf houses, villas, and golf condos with varying homeowner conveniences such as lawn care, exterior maintenance, and many more, golf estates at Riverwood are either incorporated or unincorporated, a homeowners association term used to identify which golf property is under their system or self-maintained by the resident.
Riverwood golf homes were first built in 1992, while some were completed after 2014. Golf houses in the community have award-winning modern architectural styles with two to five-bedroom, and two to three-bathroom floor plans. Ideal for first-time golf home buyers, most golf estates also have attached two or three-car garage plans along with private swimming pools. Since about 300-acres of the community are wetlands and the golf homes are within borders by one of Florida's oldest and longest river parks, the Myakka River, almost every golf house at Riverwood also has stunning views of the golf course, preserve, or lakes.
The community's residents have access to a 12,000-square-foot activity center, which includes a massive library, a complete fitness center, and spacious meeting and craft rooms. Residents can also take advantage of the relaxing resort-style swimming pool and lap pool, plus a complete spa treatment facility. Riverwood also promotes an active lifestyle and therefore provides the community with six Har-Tru lighted tennis courts, six pickleball courts, bocce ball courts, lawn croquet, and a dog park for those with pets at home.
All golf homeowners pay the master association which provides 24-hour coverage at the gate, along with main common grounds maintenance. They also benefit from the Riverwood community association manager who's on-site five days a week, a full-time activity director, and a tennis facility operator, who all help guide residents with their daily needs. The amenities included in the homeowners' association dues vary depending on the neighborhood where the golf course home is located. Golf homes under neighborhood associations may also be provided with lawn care, building maintenance, building insurance, water, and sewer maintenance, neighborhood common ground care with street lighting, and liability insurances for community representatives.
The Riverwood Golf Club community features a par 72 championship course that's nature at its best. The 18-hole golf course layout is surrounded by lush landscaping and rich natural foliage, making the routing challenging for golfers. The club is also located within a few minutes drive of other excellent golf clubs like The Cove of Rotonda Golf Center and Heron Creek Golf and Country Club.
Designed by architects Gene Bates and Troy Vincent, residents of this golf club community have the privilege to access its fine-dining restaurant for lunch and dinner meals, along with exclusive bar services giving a casual yet intimate experience for all. Club members can also drive to the Riverwood Beach Club, located on Manasota Key, to use the community's beachfront pavilion with picnicking areas, changing rooms, restrooms, and private parking.
