The Tequesta Country Club is a premier residential golf community in the Village of Tequesta, Florida, and is surrounded by the Loxahatchee River's main fork. The challenging Tequesta layout is recognized as one of the gems of legendary golf architect Dick Wilson and the course is situated over white sugar sand and has excellent drainage, which is particularly important during the rainy season. Spreading Ficus trees and several rare banyans, mixed in with native Florida palms, oaks, and pines line the perimeters and delineate the fairways throughout the course. This exotic landscape provides a beautiful panorama, changing with the season while clearly signifying the play zones.

In 2013, golf course architect, Tom Fazio II, completed a major restoration and renovation project and now each hole has its own character within the overall Wilson design. Elevated greens and significantly contoured fairways provide an interesting challenge for golfers of all skill levels. The unique hole designs with doglegs on most par fours and fives demand discipline and good shot selection.

As part of the redevelopment project, Tom Fazio II created a wonderful short game practice facility. Perhaps most importantly, recognizing that the golf course is located on a 10 to 12-foot ridge of natural white sand, Tom has restored the original natural areas on the golf course with the same white sand on which the course was built. He also planted native vegetation in these areas, thereby continuing to give the golf course the traditional “old Florida” feel while simultaneously adhering to modern water conservation and preservation practices. They valued tradition of this 1950's style golf course has been maintained but has also been gently and effectively brought into the 21st century.
