Located North of East County Road 466 are The Villages of Hacienda, Hickory Head and Palo Alto. The neighborhood is a small part of The Villages, the largest active adult community in the world. The Villages is a self-sustaining city and the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the United States.
More than 130,000 Villagers live in The Villages, with more than 100,000 golf homes across Sumter, Lake, and Marion Counties. Residents will find various restaurants, entertainment and shops, such as Margarita Republic, Soap Store, Gators Dockside, Farm Shed, Dunkin Donuts, Amerikanos Grille, and more. The Spanish Square is also the home of The Villages’ own newspaper and radio station, WBLG 640 AM.
Like all Villagers, the homeowners of The Villages of Hacienda, Hickory Head and Palo Alto enjoy free golf for life on all the Executive Golf Trail layouts. They also have the Hacienda Hills Golf and Country Club, designed by Clifton, Ezell and Clifton, right near their homes. The 27-hole golf course offers an excellent test for all skill levels with strategic bunkering and water on fourteen holes. Residents will also enjoy the La Hacienda Pool and Recreation Center, where they can enjoy the pool, pickleball courts and tennis courts.
