The Tides Golf Club community was first plotted way back in 1926, but land development for housing never came to fruition. Even without having any villages or subdivisions, property owners in the area took advantage of roadside lots and built golf homes and commercial buildings surrounding the golf course. Today these golf homes represent the Tides Golf Course community which can be best described as an oasis in an urban jungle. Located on the far West side of Florida and facing the gulf coast, The Tides Golf Course itself is a hidden gem in this urbanized area and is a rare slice of peace and tranquility in a busy city like Seminole with its population of around 20,000.
Seminole has a population of more or less 20,000 people which is why it is surprising to have this beauty in such a densely populated city. The golf course is more than 100-acres of Tifdwarf grass with a clubhouse as the lone building on the course. The houses lining the perimeter of the Tides layout are mostly golf homes on big lots. Most of these golf houses get to enjoy the privilege of having front yards set well back from the sidewalk and the street. There are also several ponds surrounded by golf homes which are rare in a metropolitan area.
The community's golf homes vary when it comes to styles and floorplans. Most have attractively landscaped gardens in front while the more luxurious golf homes have swimming pools as well. Golf homes fronting the golf course tend to achieve the highest value because of the direct golf course views that provide such a wonderful ambiance for residents.
The golf course itself fronts the Florida Gulf Coast providing the community with cooling breezes in the summer months. There are also plenty of nature parks and conservatory areas nearby which is why there is an abundance of wildlife in the area. It is not surprising to see bald eagles flying above the community's golf homes every now and then.
The Tides Golf Club is a great community to live in and resembles a traditional middle-class American neighborhood. Pharmacies, grocery stores, banks, bars, and restaurants, as well as hospitals and clinics, are all easy for residents to find nearby. The surrounding gulf area includes the popular Moldova Island and a few miles away are several beach resorts and nature parks which are great tourist attractions. Unfortunately, the community's golf course is now permanently closed, but it still remains an attractive green space for residents to utilize and enjoy as the land development plans for the area are still on hold.
