One of the ‘creams of the crop’ golf communities in Plant City, Florida, the Walden Lake Golf and Country Club is a gorgeous master-planned neighborhood that provides residents with multiple golf real estate options, from mid-size to oversized golf properties. The quality of life, community aesthetics, family recreation, solid property values, and surroundings are paramount characteristics of the neighborhood.

Located in a traditional small-town setting, the Walden Lake Golf and Country Club is a lakeside waterfront community nestled around a 62-acre lake. The tree-lined streets winding throughout the neighborhood and sub-divisions are professionally manicured, giving all who enter the true feeling of living in the South. Thus, Walden Lake is one of the perfect communities for those yearning for peace yet wanting to be closer to the city.

There are 30 well-established subdivisions in the community and two apartment complexes, making it one of the largest residential neighborhoods in Hillsborough County. Each development is incorporated as a Homeowners or Condominium Association and has its own set of Bylaws and Deed Restrictions that govern the sub-division. And, with anywhere from 16 to 250 golf homes to be found in each of the Walden Lake sub-division, the community's impressive number of golf residences gives prospective golf property buyers a wide selection of golf house styles and sizes to consider.

Every day is a new adventure in Walden Lake. Whether residents enjoy exploring nature trails, catching the “big one,” exercising their dog in the dog park, watching children laugh and play at the playground, or enjoying a game of baseball, volleyball, four square, tetherball, or soccer at the Sports Complex, or a picnic at the Pavilion, the opportunities to enjoy a richer rewarding life abound in this community. Since the community is larger than most neighborhoods in Plant City, Walden Lake has its own ‘town hall’ where the friendly, professional staff administers all community maintenance, security, and business affairs. Unfortunately, since 2016, the golf courses of the Walden Lake Golf and Country Club were shut down. In 2019, Walden Lake LLC acquired the property with plans to make residential opportunities and build commercial establishments. The current community of Walden Lake was reportedly divided by the decision, with the majority choosing to maintain the layout. In 2022, the Plant City Planning Board rejected the LLC’s residential proposal, which included building a Village Center on 58 acres of the former golf courses.
