Bill Bergin

Over the last twenty-five years, Bill Bergin has been involved in the planning and design of over 70 golf course projects, including more than 50 under his own banner. Noteworthy renovations also include a trifecta of golf courses chosen to host their respective State Amateur Championships in 2013: Pinetree CC in Georgia, Hoover CC in Alabama, and Chattanooga Golf and CC in Tennessee.

Highlighting Bergin Golf Designs' original designs are Country Club of Winter Haven, recently named as one of Golf Digest's Best New Courses for 2014, and Foxland Harbor, a magnificent facility on Old Hickory Lake near Nashville, Tennessee, chosen as one of Golfweek's 2009 Best New Courses. Then there's Chariot Run, of the Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino and the #16 Best Casino Course in the US for 2013, and Heritage Plantation, in Laurel Hill, Florida, selected as Golf Digest's 5th Best New Public/Resort Course in the US for 2008.

Bergin Golf Design's renovation work features his acclaimed restoration of Chattanooga Golf and Country Club, a 1920s Donald Ross design on the banks of the Tennessee River, and Mirimichi, Justin Timberlake's award-winning and eco-friendly golf course in Memphis, selected as the #1 Best Course You Can Play in Tennessee by Golfweek for 2015. Plus, the firm worked on the Oaks Country Club, an A.W. Tillinghast renovation in Tulsa, Oklahoma, selected by Golf Digest as the 4th Best Remodel in the U.S. for 2015, and Dunwoody Country Club, in Atlanta.

During Bill's competitive days, he played in excess of 250 professional tournaments worldwide, including three U.S. Opens, two British Opens and over 50 PGA Tour events. Competing in major championships and teaching golfers of all abilities has given him an astute awareness of the strategic quality of a golf course and how it affects all players.
