Carter Morrish
Carter Morrish is the son of Jay Morrish, a former president of the American Society of Golf Architects. His first experience in golf design was from 1986 to 1989 as part of the construction team for Wadsworth Golf Course.
After that stint, he joined his father’s design firm, Jay Morrish and Associates Ltd. He worked alongside his father in all aspects of golf design, from creating detailed construction plans, overall design, and the construction processes. When his father retired in 2002, Carter started his own design firm, Morrish and Associates, and continued to apply the principles learned from his father alongside the new methods and technology being applied to golf design theories.
Carter continues to uphold the tradition of excellence taught by his father and mentor, Jay Morrish. In 2006, he teamed up with Rafael Alarcon to create Alarcon/Morrish Golf Course Design which remains active to this day.
Alarcon Morrish Golf Course Design’s goal is to design golf courses that will challenge all levels of golfers. From the recreational player to the touring professional, the firms philosophy is focused on creating an experience that will leave the golfer yearning to come back and play again.
