Johnston's mission statement, and that of his design firm, is a philosophy of good stewardship of the land, honoring all environmentally sensitive issues, and assisting the golf industry by promoting environmental awareness. “We prefer to work with the natural contours and vegetation of the land rather than force the golf course design on it,” says Johnston.
