David Hemstock
David Hemstock is an experienced and qualified designer, agronomist, and soil and water engineer. His firm, Hemstock Design Ltd, is heading towards thirty years of golf course design and consultancy work and has built a reputation for dedication, innovation, flair, and integrity.
To date, David and his team have worked on over 200 golf projects in the UK and internationally, including new constructions, upgrades, and consultancy on key technical aspects involved in golf course presentation and management.
The company works on all types of golf projects; from international championship-level courses (notably the award-winning and Asian Tour venue, Amby Valley City, India), to traditional course renovation and extension projects such as Knaresborough Golf Club in the UK and Mehta Golf Club in Uganda. David has also designed some of the 'new golf' short course layouts like the new academy courses at CVR Links and Palace Greens in southern India.
Hemstock Design has been involved in other golf and sports work at the highest level, including design and consultancy work for the Athens Olympics, London Olympics, the Commonwealth Games, the Cricket World Cup, and FIFA-level projects. Many of these have combined golf, sports, and landscape master-planning and in all cases, the company philosophy is to see the project through into successful operation by providing ongoing support on turf management and operational and maintenance training.
