A native of Kansas, Gary Linn is one of today's generation's most remarkable golf course architects and has designed over 40 layouts worldwide. Gary has been a dedicated golfer since he was a kid, raised in a family who loves the sport. In 1978, he graduated with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Kansas State University.

Since his graduation, Gary has pursued his dream of becoming a landscape architect. Robert Trent Jones II’s design company welcomed him as a lead project architect, eventually promoting him to vice president of design. He worked with the firm for more than 20 years, designing numerous remarkable golf courses worldwide.

Some of his notable designs are The Windsor Club in Vero Beach, Florida; Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Arkansas; The Wailea Gold and Emerald Course in Maui, Hawaii; and Cordevalle Golf Club in Morgan Hill, California. Due to his career success, he remains an active member of the Alumni Association, previously serving as president of the Northern California chapter. He’s also a long-standing member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, where he has served as the Society's Membership chairman.

Today, Gary works with another well-known landscape architect, Donald Knott, in their company, Knott & Linn Golf Design Group. Besides that, he has been a speaker at numerous golf conferences and seminars and a lecturer for golf course design classes at Kansas State University. Gary remains an avid golfer and has played many of the great courses around the world. He also has actively participated in youth sports, coaching local soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball teams.

"Our goal is to design a first-class golf experience unsurpassed in character and integrity… courses that are dynamic, exciting, and enjoyable to play. We strive to exceed our client's expectations in both product and service.” – Gary Linn.
