Greg Turner

Greg Turner was born on the 21st of February 1963 in Dunedin, New Zealand. He attended the University of Oklahoma in the United States but spent most of his career on the PGA Tour of Australasia and the European Tour.

He won several tournaments on the European Tour and achieved a career-best ranking of 18th on the European Tour Order of Merit in 1997. Greg Turner represented New Zealand in international competitions many times and was one of Peter Thomson's two wild card selections for the winning International Team in the 1998 Presidents Cup.

Since retiring from professional golf, Turner has set up a golf course design and corporate hospitality business. Greg is now based in Queenstown and is an articulate and passionate designer who mixes a playing career on the European Senior's Tour with some steady design contracts in his homeland of New Zealand.

Much of Turner's design work has been done in association with Scott Macpherson and although some of his work has polarised popular opinion, he remains busy. Greg and Scott have worked on many projects in New Zealand, including a new 18-hole facility called Hogan's Gully, the re-design of the championship course at Royal Wellington Golf Club, and the new course at the prestigious Millbrook Golf Resort.
