Gus Grantham

Gus Grantham is a golf course architect who has experience working for on than 40 golf courses across the globe. Most of Grantham's courses were renovation projects, originally designed by renowned architects von Hagge, Smelek, and Baril, father and son duo Jack Niklaus Sr., and Jr., and Robert Trent Jones Sr.

Inspired in making designs, Grantham started his career in 1982 with his first course Maple Leaf Golf and Country Club, in Charlotte County. The course was shortlisted as one of 2020's top short courses by Golf Advisor.

Years after that, Grantham's name successfully rose to the top as one of the well-known architects in Indonesia. He worked with other designers to create courses like Bukit Barisan Country Club, Bukit Darmo Golf, and what many consider the country's premier layout, Bali National Golf Club.

In the United States, Gus Grantham is valued for creating or redesigning various properties such as Turnberry Isle Country Club's Soffer Course, Houston National Golf Club, Pinehurst Resort and Country Club, and the Grand Cypress Golf Course in Orange County. In 2011, in Grantham's last known project, he was invited to create designs for Rob Collins and Tad King's design company.
