Johnny Miller

Johnny Miller or John Laurence Miller (born April 29, 1947) is, quite simply, a golf legend. A junior golf prodigy and Brigham Young University graduate, Miller broke into the big time with a surprise second-place finish at the Masters in 1971 at the ripe age of 23. Two years later, he captured his first major with a win at the 1973 U.S. Open.

Miller sizzled in 1974 and 1975, winning an amazing twelve events. He went on to take his second major championship at the British Open in 1976. Eventually, he retired from the regular Tour with 24 victories, his last coming at the 1994 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1998 and following his retirement became lead golf analyst for NBC Sports, a position he held from January 1990 to February 2019.

Johnny Miller is a partner in a limited partnership that purchased Silverado Country Club in Napa, California. He also became an active golf course architect and owns a golf design company and a golf academy. Although Miller has helped design and renovates 34 golf courses, Silverado was the first course he fully designed himself. He also designed the Thanksgiving Point Golf Course in Lehi, Utah, host of the Champion's Challenge.
