Neil Crafter

Neil Crafter has an illustrious record as an amateur golfer, representing Australia on four occasions, including the 1984 World Amateur Teams Championship and the Eisenhower Cup. He has also won leading amateur honors in both the 1985 Victorian Open and, on several occasions, the South Australian Open. He also competed in the Australian Open Championship in 1983, 1984, and 1987.

Neil Crafter is a founding member of the Society of Australian Golf Course Architects and has many years of experience as a golf course architect. Neil holds formal qualifications as an architect and in 1997 Neil was elected President of the SAGCA, which he remained, until his retirement from this position in 2003

His design work in Australia has largely involved redesign jobs and the occasional new course project - such as Fleurieu, now Mount Compass, close to the city of Adelaide. Crafter and his partner Paul Mogford are best known for their redesign work at the Glenelg Golf Club and also the subtle and sensible tweaking they made to the great old links at Barwon Heads. In Asia, he and his team have been more prolific, involved in the design and construction of several courses in the region's rapidly developing markets.
