Roy Case

Born in Wimbledon, England on May 10, 1934, Roy Case grew up during World War II. After high school, he graduated from both the AA School of Architecture and University College in London. After emigrating to Jamaica in 1963, Roy worked for the Jamaica Town Planning Department, and after fulfilling his contract with the Jamaican government, went into private architectural practice.

His time in Jamaica was rich and varied and it was during this time that he began his lifelong love for the game of golf. This love would later blossom into a renowned career in golf course design. In 1976, Roy and his family moved to Florida where he obtained his contractor's license and went into private practice, beginning a successful career designing golf courses until his untimely passing in April 2019.

Roy's courses are well known in Palm Beach County and have proven to be a great success for the Palm Beach County Parks Department. In addition to his presence in Palm Beach, Roy designed successful courses around the United States and the world. Roy was also well-known as an expert on Landfill Reclamation courses, where closed landfills are reused and transformed into golf courses. He referred to this as the “ultimate in recycling,” as a barren, unused piece of land could be transformed into an amazing, beautiful, and profitable asset.
