Spencer Holt

Spencer Holt began his golf course design career in 1988 as a Senior Design Associate for Arthur Hills and Associates, a golf course architectural firm renowned for its environmental sensitivity and expertise in the resort and residential golf developments.  While at Hills and Associates, Spencer provided master planning, design, and construction management for over 20 new golf course projects and countless renovations throughout the United States.

A Native of Kentucky, Spencer started his own golf course design firm in Louisville in 1997 with a personal mission to provide golf course design with a dedication to quality, creativity, and environmental integrity.  As a result, Holt Golf Design has been retained by numerous golf clubs to provide golf design services. Most notably, Spencer was hired by The University of Louisville to design an 18-hole championship golf course called “The University of Louisville Golf Club” which has hosted numerous collegiate and State Championships.

Now, with over a quarter century's worth of exclusive golf course design experience, Spencer Holt has developed successful projects across the United States and most recently in China as well.
