Tad Burnett

After 17 years of working as a Senior Design Associate at Greg Norman Golf Course Design, Tad Burnett, together with Matthew Dusenberry and James McKenna, finally created their own firm,  Dusenberry Design.

Burnett attended Temple University, where he studied a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from 1986 to 1991. He became a registered landscape architect in 1994.

From 1993 to 1994, Burnett became a Golf Course Design Associate at Jim Blaukovitch and Associates, where he assisted in the design and grading plans for six new championship courses. He served as field design representative on two new 9-hole courses, Applewood in Pittstown, PA, and Four Seasons, in Lakewood, NJ. Tad was also responsible for creating numerous Masterplan of Improvement studies for existing golf courses and introduced AutoCAD into the existing design workflow.

As a Senior Design Associate at Greg Norman Golf Course Design from 1996 to 2013, Burnett played an integral role in designing 38 Greg Norman Signature Design Courses. His responsibilities included conducting initial site survey visits, producing routing studies to review with the client, and regularly collaborating with project owners, stakeholders, and team design consultants.

Burnett also developed preliminary construction budgets and scheduling, produced all grading plans, managed the bidding and contractor selection process, supported all Greg Norman Golf Course Design field representatives with additional projects, and much more.

In 2013, Burnett became a design partner for Dusenberry Design. The team specializes in land planning and golf course design and construction for private clubs, real estate developers, resorts, and the public sector. Dusenberry Design's ethos focuses on character, variety, interest, and a strong sense of place to deliver memorable golfing experiences. Burnett and his team adhere to a simple philosophy of quality over quantity and emphasize variety and character over length and difficulty.
