Theodore J. Moreau

Theodore J. Moreau (1890 – 1942), designed golf courses for various cities in the United States such as Illinois, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and many more. Over the decades, he was able to create more than 30 landscape designs.

Theodore J. Moreau was first known as a civil engineer from Chicago who worked with another notable architect William Langford, with whom he ran a design and construction firm until the beginning of World War II. The two worked harmoniously, with Langford as main designer and Moreau in charge of construction and design implementation. In the 1940s, the two separated to pursue individual careers, with Langford starting his own firm.

Despite the dissolved partnership, their firm gained numerous awards and recently three of their designs were included in the Top 200 of Golfweek's Best 2021. Moreau's best works are still recognized to this day, such as Schaumburg Golf Club, Lake Worth Beach Golf Club, and Ravisloe Country Club, with all having received 5-star ratings in 2021.
