Tom Fazio II
Tom Fazio II, also known as Tommy, is a member of a distinguished and very well-known family of golf course designers, which includes his father Jim, his uncle Tom and great-uncle George. While a student at Mississippi State University, Tommy had the opportunity to work on a golf course in Italy that his father Jim had designed. He also worked with his father overseeing the day-to-day construction of Jim's design at Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor, New York.
Tommy's best-known work includes, but is not limited to; Eagle Marsh, Great River, PGA National's Fazio Course, and the New Course at Trump National in Bedminster where he also worked on the Old Course with his uncle. He also recently completed renovations on The Haig course at PGA National Resort and Spa – home of the PGA Tour's Honda Classic – and now renamed the Fazio Course.
In mid-2020 it was announced that the CEO of the USGA, Mike Davis, would be stepping down from his role at the end of 2011 and leaving the governing organization to join Tom Fazio II as part of a new golf course design business to be known as Fazio and Davis Golf Design.
