Tomojiro Maruyama

Tomojiro Maruyama was the golf course designer used by the Matsushita Investment and Development Company when the firm originally developed the Royal Pines Resort facility in the late 1980s.

Tomojiro Maruyama designed a 27-hole layout that hosted the ANZ Ladies Masters just two years after it opened in 1990 and the fixture became a permanent fixture on the calendar of professional women's golf ever since.

The layout at Royal Pines has changed considerably over the years, most notably with the recently completed transformation by noted course designer Graham Marsh. However certain elements of Maruyama's original design can still be seen in the current configuration of the courses.
