Aamby Valley City is a township developed by the Sahara India Pariwar in the Pune district of the state of Maharashtra. Approximately 90 kilometres from the city of Pune and 120 kilometres from Mumbai, this small city was designed and master planned by Gruen Bobby Mukherji and Associates in 2003. Accessible by road from Mahabalswar, the township is also connected by air from Mumbai and is equipped with its own airstrip.
Aamby Valley is one of India's best planned cities and has been a trendsetter in urban planning and environmental and landscape design. Spread over 10,600-acres of hilly terrain the city features three large man-made lakes that have been created by constructing dams, the largest being 1.5 kilometres in length.
Part of the facilities at Aamby Valley is the Western Ghats Golf Club and its 18-hole Championship golf course. This challenging par 72 layout is fully floodlit allowing for play both day and night. Measuring 7,100 yards this highly regarded course, which was designed by renowned British golf architect David Hemstock, is spread over 256 acres and offers compelling vistas of the valley.
For golfers at Aamby Valley there is a Pro shop and the Western Ghats Golf Academy which is an exclusive centre for golf coaching. The facility has excellent practice and teaching bays and a state-of-the-art professional training system. In addition to the clubhouse bar and restaurant there is an almost endless array of adventure and water sports, leisure activities, entertainment events and accommodation options available in and around Aamby Valley City.
