South Florida is renowned for some of the best golf courses and services in the world, and the Aberdeen Golf and Country Club in West Boynton Beach is no exception. With the unsurpassed architecture and beauty of its 18-hole championship golf course, Aberdeen's layout is challenging and playable for golfers of all skill levels.
Originally designed and constructed under the guidance of course architect Desmond Muirhead, the par 72 layout at Aberdeen first opened for play in 1987. The layout and practice facilities have recently undergone a total restoration by Jim Fazio with the par 72 routing, which now measures 7,091-yards, reopening in 2019 and gaining a spot in Golf Digest's top five best new private courses for 2019.
Aberdeen is now a far more exciting golf course with sculptured bunkers and contoured greens. The one Muirhead feature Fazio retained is the alternate isthmus fairway on the par 5 fourth. “It embraces all the Homeric ideas of courage,” Muirhead wrote in 1987, adding, “Odysseus would have liked this hole.” Fazio summed it up differently, “It cuts a hundred yards off the hole.” To spice this hole up, Fazio added a Biarritz green, which features a deep gully, or swale, bisecting its middle.
The club's redesigned 40,000-square foot clubhouse is both modern and luxuriously appointed, is surrounded by waterfalls and beautifully landscaped grounds, and offers breathtaking lake views. The Aberdeen Golf and Country Club also possesses a tennis complex that includes 14 Har-Tru tennis courts, as well as a fitness and aquatics facility that boasts features that are found only in top-flight private clubs.
Aberdeen Golf and Country Club is a gated golf community located in West Boynton Beach, Florida, just eight miles from the ocean, offering an exceptional lifestyle, with a wide array of beautiful golf homes. Many outside of Florida are unaware of the tremendous value, services and amenities that exist at Aberdeen, from Jim Fazio's spectacular golf course to the state-of-the-art tennis, fitness and aquatics facility, to the grand and luxurious clubhouse, enjoying life at Aberdeen – as a home away from home, or a permanent home – is effortless.
Aberdeen features approximately 2,900 residential golf houses, villas and condos divided into 25 subdivisions across 1,700-acres. Some of these neighbourhoods are restricted to those who are aged 55 and over. Golf condos within the community range from one to three bedrooms, while the community's coach homes and golf villas, which are attached duplexes, range in size from two to three bedrooms. The single-family homes also range from two to three bedrooms, with some offering a bonus room.
