Typical of true native Florida courses, with large oak trees and beautiful grasslands, the 9-hole Amberwood Executive Golf Course in Lady Lake is a challenging layout from the back tees with some holes requiring a long iron or wood. One of the most challenging routings in the entire Villages community, this short golf course takes golfers less than an hour per round, and they can expect enjoyable and fair play regardless of handicap.

Although the 1,710-yard golf course may not be as intimidating as a full-length layout, many beginners avoid Amberwood because several of its holes demanding accurate iron shots. Still, first-timers who want to try the routing may start by attending golf school at Amberwood or warm up properly via its expansive driving range. When it comes to the view, this par 28 routing truly does justice to the famous Florida weather as the sunlight striking the surroundings puts golfers in awe of the scenery and well-maintained landscaping.

Another advantage of playing at Amberwood Executive Golf Course compared to some of its neighboring layouts is that golf homes are not scattered through the majority of the routing. Here, golfers can play a casual round with limited disturbances from resident and community noise.

Opened in 2003, notable architect firm Clifton, Ezell and Clifton designed the course with the comfort of golfers in mind. Most of the greens and fairways of Amberwood are covered in well -maintained Bermuda grass to ensure the quality of play for every round. The course is free to play for Villages residents who wish to walk the course, while rentals for carts and clubs come with a small fee.
