A private, world-class resort, Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge spread across the Bay Hill golf community – a neighborhood that originated and, through the decades, sprouted alongside the growth of the ever-changing golf course. The Orlando city center is approximately ten miles away while the international airport is roughly just a twenty-minute drive.
The architect of the initial 18-hole course, which was inaugurated in 1961, was Dick Wilson. In 2009, some 34 years later, after acquiring the property, golf legend Arnold Palmer and his design company completely renovated and re-designed the entire course – transforming it, along with the resort, into the golf destination that it is today.
The centerpiece of Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge are its two golf courses – the 9-hole Charger Course and the 18-hole Championship / Challenger Course, which was designed for tournament-level play. Since 1979, Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge, Championship Course have played host to the Arnold Palmer Invitational – a “premiere event-jewels” on the PGA Tour which, every year, draws the strongest contenders to one of the finest courses on the circuit.
Members and registered guests of Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge can, as well, enjoy four Har-Tru and two Flexi-Cushion tennis courts, a heated junior Olympic-sized swimming pool, a fully-equipped fitness center, a full-service spa, a marina for boating plus fishing and dining with a view or poolside plus an after-dinner lounge
Also open to members and registered guests are the Pro shop, caddie and luggage services, the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy, and a two-acre short game practice facility and driving range. Those on vacation can choose from three types of accommodations – lodge, suite, or self-catered cottages.

From a vast orchard supposedly devoted to, yet not fertile enough for cultivating citrus, instead grew a golf course and community now widely acclaimed in the golf universe as belonging to no less than the cream of the crop. From its simple beginnings this golf course community constantly transformed and established for itself a name and reputation at par with that of its legendary architect and designer. This community is Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge.
With the groundbreaking of Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge, the seeds of the wider Bay Hill golf community were planted. As the private resort went on a continuous upswing, the neighborhood thrived, and its golf homes became a most desired acquisition in Orlando.
Living in Bay Hill opens up recreational privileges that come with a club membership – first-rate amenities for golf, tennis, socializing, working out, self-pampering and marine expeditions. Orlando is one’s oyster as well – with its urbane pursuits and popular tourist destinations such as Sea World, Universal Studios and Disney World.
