Bacchus Marsh Golf Club

Links Rd, Darley, VIC, 3340, Australia

Known as the halfway point between Melbourne and Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh is a 50-minute drive from either. Across the Western, Freeway is - the home of Bacchus Marsh Golf Club.

The club itself goes back to 1907 with the current site opening in 1974, built by the club's own members. Each hole at Bacchus Marsh is dedicated to a member who has passed. A genuine touch that displays the history of the region and the importance of volunteers to the club.

The course is blessed by its environment, looking out to the Lerderderg Gorge National Park. The Santa Ana couch fairways are tight and true with some gentle undulation. Hole 7 requires an uphill second shot with the green difficult to read from the short position. It is also notoriously difficult to judge in the wind. The shortest on the course and at just 180 meters, the 12th slopes from front to back and left to right. A baby draw is the smartest option to make a birdie.

Bacchus Marsh Golf Club has improved notably over the past several years. It is still seen as a good value-for-money round. The local area has become increasingly suburban, meaning bookings are now essential.
