Located between the beautiful Lake Harris and Lake Eustis, the Baytree Executive Golf Course is an 18-hole layout that has breathtaking landscaped grounds surrounded by towering cypress trees. The par 62 courses were closed to the public and its club members in 2017. Residents at Baytree Villas proposed to purchase the land of the routing but the terms of the deal were not revealed.
Before it was closed, the Baytree Executive Golf Course was deemed by many as a hidden treasure in Tavares. Measuring 3,752-yards from the longest tees, the routing is shorter in distance compared to nearby layouts at Mission Inn Golf Resort and Club, Mount Dora Golf Club, etc., making it one of the friendliest courses for beginners who are just starting out in the sport.
Initially covered in Bermuda grass from greens to fairways, the layout once had a full driving range, putting green, and practice bunker. Golf lessons with the help of teaching golf professionals were also available at the time, plus golfers could rent carts or clubs if needed from the fully stocked Pro Shop. Players could also finish their day in the clubhouse's on-site restaurant which served mouth-watering meals daily.
