Golfers experiencing Bogart Executive Golf Course will beg for more mercy as “Bogie” tips his fedora and winks at the end of their round. Straight shots will be rewarded here more than the long hitter. Even on the lone par 4 hole, precise placement of the tee shot will reign over a long ball in one of the strategically placed bunkers.
Once the visual intimidation is conquered, the course can be tamed. Bogart Executive Golf Course looks tough, but once players get beyond the visual intimidation, this beautiful layout can be tamed and can even be a lot of fun. Mature oaks are scattered across the rolling terrain, and water does come into play, especially on the demanding 8th hole.
Bogart rewards straight shots more than long shots, and accuracy on this course is key to avoiding the numerous bunkers strategically placed near locations where players might wish to land their next shot. Bogart is currently a par 28, with yardages varying from just 992-total yards to 1,679-yards from the rear tees.
The Bogart Executive Golf Course is considered a Level 2 course. The Villages rank their executive courses on a scale from 1 to 4 to allow Villagers to choose a level that best suits their ability and maximize enjoyment. Amenities for players at Bogart include a driving range, golf school academy, and teaching pro.
Aside from the Bogart Executive Golf Course, all Villagers can play complimentary golf on the 40+ layouts of The Villages Executive Golf Trail. Green fees on the executive courses are free for residents and, although golf carts are available, there is no charge to a resident for walking on the course.
