Designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry in 2001, Calusa Pines Golf Club is one of the most highly regarded invitation-only private golf clubs in the U.S. This golf club is one of the finest private clubs with just 275 members and a joining fee of around $150,000.
Located in Naples, Florida, members at Calusa Pines enjoy a great golf-only facility, a world-class clubhouse, and a strong caddie program. It has also built five guest cabins for members, the most recent eight-bedroom cabin in October 2021.
Under the direction of its president and founder, Gary Chensoff, the 530-acres of piney scrubland were transformed into a beautiful course. To create huge, deep lakes and create rare Floridian elevation changes, the club spent $1,000,000 to blast through tons of rocks.
The changes resulted in dramatic elevation and spectacular views, making this private course different from other top courses in the area. Bunkers are plentiful; one waste area encompasses nine acres, and the eighth green features a 27-foot-tall bunker.
This 7,215-yard golf course has far more sandy waste areas and has some of the firmest, fastest Bermuda fairways and greens in Florida. The par 72 layout is perched on the highest land point in south Florida and is set some 60-feet up with numerous trees and bushes.
Calusa Pines Golf Club is a high-end facility with a full suite of golfing amenities for its members and their guests to enjoy, including a driving range, putting green, pitching and chipping area, a golf school academy, and an excellent clubhouse restaurant.
