Captiva Island Golf Club is part of the South Seas Island Resort on Captiva Island, Florida. A new golf offering has opened as part of the continued rebuilding process at South Seas, the stunning 12-hole golf short course, The Clutch.
This Beau Welling-designed short course blends natural beauty, exciting challenges, and a friendly vibe that is perfect for every golfer. The course is designed to be a family-friendly course with available carts for those golfers with mobility challenges. Walk or ride, the stunning course delivers unforgettable moments for all.
The Clutch is a modern golf course that captures the spirit of today's game. It invites golfers to use different skills while taking in the beautiful scenery. One of its unique features is the ninth hole, where players have two choices: a 76-yard hole or the course's shortest hole, which is only 54 yards long. This variety and flexibility make The Clutch a fun and engaging place for golfers of all abilities.
The Clutch offers stunning views at every hole, overlooking Pine Island Sound and the Gulf of Mexico. The course is designed around three ponds, which not only look great but also help with water drainage. The coastal breeze adds to the challenge and excitement, as it can change the way some holes play depending on the direction of the wind. This blend of scenery and weather makes each game unique and enjoyable.
The Clutch is available to resort guests and Captiva Island Golf Club members. Captiva Island is connected to the Florida mainland via the Sanibel Causeway, and a small bridge over Blind Pass links it to Sanibel Island. South Seas is at the northern end of Captiva Island, nestled between Pine Island Sound and the Gulf of Mexico.
