The Chirnside Park Country Club has been in operation since 1974 and originally sat on 146-acres overlooking panoramic views of the Yarra Valley. With the golf course fully surrounded by houses and technology reducing the challenge for golfers the club relocated its golfing arm to the new Gardiners Run Golf Course to meet the demands of the golfing public.
Situated in Lilydale the 18-hole Gardiner's Run opened in 2014 and was designed by Phil Ryan of Pacific Coast Design. With generous landing areas, well-designed greens, and a weather-proof base the 6,282-metre course has been designed to increase the overall experience for golfers.
The Chirnside Park Country Club - Gardiners Run Golf Course holes of the par 72 layout occupies the heavy ground and are generally straight away and built with mounding and plantings to provide separation. The modern resort-style bunkering, clover shaped greens, and water hazards provide a level of complexity sufficient to test all who play the course.
Along with a Pro shop, there are ample practice facilities for golfers at Gardiners Run including a driving range, putting greens, and a short game practice area. The course clubhouse and its shaded deck area overlooking the 18th hole offer a relaxed environment as well as a licensed bar and kitchen.
Now operating across two locations Chirnside Park Country Club has retained eleven acres of land on the original Country Club site with a complete recreational and social entertainment venue offering a gaming area, bowling greens, tennis courts, and a fully licensed bistro and function venue.
