El Niguel Country Club, in Orange County, California, is a top-tier private golf club located less than a mile from the coast and its beautiful beaches. The 18-hole El Niguel course is well regarded among professional players and enthusiasts alike for its scenic beauty and is considered one of the best Southern California golf courses out there.
The club first opened for play in 1963 and several different course architects have added their own unique touches to the beautiful layout such as the “King of Waterholes” Ted Robinson, Sr., his son, Ted Robinson, Jr., and David W. Kent. In 2018, Todd Eckenrode gave El Niguel Country Club a major facelift bringing the par 72 championship layout into the modern era.

With Kikuyu grass fairways and Bent grass greens the course is always kept in excellent condition making for consistently high-quality play that’s visually stunning to both players and spectators.
El Niguel’s practice facilities include a driving range and putting green designed according to USGA specifications and the club also has its own golf school academy staffed with PGA-certified professionals who conduct group clinics as well as one-on-one coaching sessions. Finally, El Niguel Country Club’s bar and restaurant is the perfect spot to relax with a few drinks after a round or enjoy a delicious meal with friends.
