Built around the prairie with the same name, Evans Prairie Country Club, Osprey Course is yet another outstanding golf challenge at The Villages. The 27-hole Evans Prairie championship facility opened in the fall of 2012, and offers three distinct nines: Osprey, Killdeer, and Egret.
Evans Prairie’s Osprey Course is a 9-hole routing with a USGA rating of 35.7 and a slope of 125. With six sets of tees ranging from 3,801 to 7,052-yards Evans Prairie will give golfers of every skill level an enjoyable day on course.
One aspect of the course that all golfers soon experience is that there are many holes where “target golf” will come into play. The par 5 is set against the east side of Evans Prairie Lake and has a beautiful view of the clubhouse. The lake helps to shape the hole as it runs along the entire left side but also juts inward, producing a peninsula and creating some very challenging landing areas. Club selection will be at a premium when golfers play this hole and many others at Evans Prairie.
Just when the design group of Clifton, Ezell and Clifton had outdone themselves at Bonifay Country Club in 2011, they came back once again with another truly memorable golf experience at the Evans Prairie Country Club. Amenities at the course include a golf shop, The Villages Golf Academy, and a swimming pool. After a round, players can visit the restaurant, where they’re offered great fine dining and a delicious menu.
