Feather Sound Country Club is positioned at the intersection of Clearwater, St. Pete, and Tampa. A collaboration among golf architects Joe Lee, Bob Cupp, and Kipp Schulties, Feather Sound is a private-equity, member-only club which, since its opening in 1974, has stood as the primary provider of first-class recreational amenities and facilities to members, their families, and guests, especially to those who live in the community of Feather Sound
Its early design is solely credited to Joe Lee, Feather Sound Country Club's championship course flows around lakes and has well-placed fairway and green-side bunkers. Landing areas and fairways allow tee shots to be quite relaxed while the smaller and elevated greens call for good approach shots.
This Joe Lee Signature routing truly lives up to its billing as being both enjoyable and challenging, no matter what the skill level of the player may be. So before engaging this 18-hole, par-72, almost 7,000-yard course, it may be advisable to familiarize oneself with Feather Sound Country Club's seven-acre driving range with its laser-leveled teeing area and five target greens. To complete the practice session, a short game area with a bunker and putting green is available, while expert golf professionals are also on hand for individual lessons as well as for group clinics.
Rated as one of the five best private clubs in Tampa by the Tampa Bay Times, Feather Sound Country Club also offers a tennis membership that comes with unlimited use of the club's well-lit Har-Tru classic green clay courts. A clubhouse membership, on the other hand, is primarily packaged with unlimited use of the junior-Olympic sized swimming pool and the clubhouse dining venues, as well as participation in club events and functions.

A coastal suburban neighborhood adjacent to Tampa Bay, Feather Sound Country Club is a community with a small-town atmosphere but with all the creature comforts of living in a bustling metropolis. The golf homes, golf condos and golf villas that are on the market have all been constructed from the beginning of the 70s all the way to the end of the 90s. Clearly conspicuous are the common design elements indicative of the period.
The Feather Sound community is also home to a golf club that bears the same name, the Feather Sound Country Club. Members of this top-rated, private-equity and member-only golf club can play on the Signature Championship Course designed by Joe Lee, as well as on the Har-Tru classic green clay tennis courts.
Members can also do laps in the junior-Olympic sized swimming pool and, after all that activity, savor deluxe dining at the plush clubhouse. Full golf memberships are all-inclusive, while full tennis and clubhouse memberships only have limited access to the golf course.
