Golf de Morfontaine – Grand Parcours

Mortefontaine, 60128, France
18     70    5985m

The Golf de Morfontaine is beautifully situated in the woods north of Paris and offers its members 27-holes of golf embedded in a tranquil heathland setting. The nine-hole Vallière Course was built in 1913 and the Grand Parcours, an 18-hole layout, was added in 1927.

Originally designed by Tom Simpson, the par 70 Grand Parcours continues to combine the requirements of a modern course and the preservation of the DNA instilled by its creator. Morfontaine remains the design for which he is best remembered. The combination of English-style heathlands, native rock outcroppings, and unspoiled isolation has resulted in a truly unique course.

The club and its well-known course boast a rich history and during the post-war period, it enjoyed the patronage of some of the world's rich and famous. These included Gary Cooper, Bing Crosby, Jerry Lewis, Bob Hope, The Kings of Spain and Belgium, and the Duke of Windsor. Expertly updated over the past decade by architect Kyle Phillips, the 6,070-metre long layout has retained the spirit of the original design that marks the Grand Parcours as unique.

For those looking to work on their game, there is a driving range, chipping area, and putting green at the Golf de Morfontaine that are of the highest standard. The English-style clubhouse provides the club's members and their guests with both bar and dining options in aristocratic surroundings and is the perfect finish to any round.
