Grenelefe Golf and Tennis Resort, in Haines City, is a 36-hole championship facility that features two very unique golf courses. The facility is away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby tourist attractions and is known for providing golfers a secluded golfing experience.
The 18-hole Grenelefe Golf and Tennis Resort East Course is a resort golf course that opened in 1977 and is known for serving as a qualifying course for both the PGA and Senior PGA Tours. It measures 6,802-yards from the longest tees and features five sets of tees meant for different skill levels.
Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay intended the East Course to be a shot makers dream. The East is made to be played with precision, not power. This fair but challenging test of golf, with tight fairways and small green traits, will require players to bring their “A” game. The rolling terrain of the par 72 East Course places an added premium on accuracy.
The Grenelefe Golf and Tennis Resort East Course has many exciting holes that begin with the opening par five's elevated tee. Most of the design is straightforward, although golfers will be required to hit straight throughout the round as there are 50 sand bunkers near the landing zones, and six holes have water in play. Helpfully, both the club's courses are marked with sprinkler heads measured to the center of the green and all carts include a pin placement sheet, including middle and back hole locations.
Grenelefe Golf and Tennis Resort offer upscale amenities not found at many of the resort properties in the Disney area. The resort offers golfers a driving range, putting green, short game area with sand bunker, plus a teaching pro and golf school academy. The clubhouse provides a resort-style swimming pool, billiards, and tennis courts, and also includes a Pro shop, snack bar, and lounge.
