The Hawkes Bay Executive Golf Course is one of the numerous 9-hole layout at The Villages, Florida, and is both a truly beautiful and fair test of a players skills. While the first five holes are relatively straightforward, the last four turn up the heat and may have golfers wishing they’d taken advantage of the easier scoring opportunities that holes 1-5 provided them.
Measuring 1,336-yards from the longest tees, birdies are notoriously hard to snag on the second half of Hawkes Bay. Taking its name from the wildlife preserve that runs alongside several fairways, this par 27 routing is known for its undulating greens, large bunkers, and the moguls that can transform a good shot into a tricky uphill or downhill lie without warning. Whether a golfer plays 849 from the forward tees or 1,336 from the rear tees, they’ll be glad they gave the Hawkes Bay Executive Golf Course a try.
Compared to other layouts within or adjacent to Hawkes Bay’s location, this Clifton, Ezell and Clifton designed golf course is far more advantageous for beginners. The Level 2 difficulty of this routing is a good starter for first-timers or even veterans looking to have a casual, fun round. For a warmup, the club has an expansive driving range where everyone is welcome to practice.
There’s no green or walking fees for residents of The Villages, although they can readily obtain an Executive Golf Trail pass that allows them to use their golf carts on all the many layouts spread throughout the massive Villages community.
