Kauri Cliffs Golf Course is located in the Bay of Islands region, an easy drive or just a 45-minute flight from Auckland. Set on over 6,000-acres near Matauri Bay, The Lodge enjoys spectacular 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean and overlooks a world-renowned championship golf course. The beautiful lodge itself is rated as one of the world's best places to stay and was built in the grand colonial style.

The publicly accessible layout at Kauri Cliffs was originally designed and built by David Harman of Golf Course Consultants, Orlando, Florida. Recently the course underwent a renovation by world-renowned golf course architect Rees Jones. The 5th hole received a complete redesign and was transformed from a long, uphill, forced carry par 3 to a short "drop shot" par 3. Other notable changes were the addition of tees on the 2nd and 9th holes and a bunker renovation on the 4th hole.

Kauri Cliffs recently ranked 37th in the world by Golf Digest Top 100 Greatest Golf Courses in the World. The par 72 championship golf course currently measures 6,528-metres and offers five sets of tees to challenge every skill level. Fifteen holes view the Pacific Ocean, six of which are played alongside cliffs that plunge to the sea and the layout's beautiful inland holes wind through marsh, forest, and farmland.

Players at Kauri Cliffs will find a modern golf complex that includes a world-class practice range along with putting and chipping greens and a well-stocked pro shop that can provide hire equipment and electric carts. Caddie services are also available.

With panoramic views stretching from the Cavalli Islands in the north to Cape Brett to the south, the clubhouse which offers both bar and dining options is a perfect place to rest, recover and plan your next round on the course. Named in the top five resorts in Australia and New Zealand in Travel and Leisure's 'World's Best Awards' 2019, Kauri Cliffs is also an excellent function venue with multiple event spaces.
