Lynwood Country Club is situated in the historic Pitt Town at the far reaches of Sydney's northwest. One of the earliest Australian settlements and with national parks encircling almost the entirety of the township, its heritage and views are just the starts of what makes Lynwood a great golf course.
The Country Club is a facility that has been heavily considered in all facets. Each hole is curated to give the best possible playing experience with regular, prideful upkeep. There is a community-oriented spirit to the club too, as it intends to service non-golfers and residents of the area.
A classic links course, the greens run true and although the fairways seem wide and forgiving, the course is by no means kind. Undulating with plenty of water hazards (a result of the natural swampland Lynwood is built on) and with bunkers, natural rough, and punishing design, the course is surprisingly difficult to play. The 14th is the prettiest of holes, but it's arguably the best in a golfing sense, too. Sloping drastically downward toward the pin, three traps sit between the tee box and green. The three bunkers can wreak havoc and prove a chaotic challenge to all skill levels.
Lynwood Country Club's practice facilities are some of the finest in Sydney. The modern driving and short game ranges are regularly busy and putting green is an asset. The clubroom's bar and restaurant facilities are popular with local residents, due in part to its spectacular view across the course and into the Blue Mountains.
