With iconic Mt Coolum as a spectacular background, Maroochy River Golf Club is an all-purpose golf complex on Queensland's beautiful Sunshine Coast.
Designed by Graham Marsh, this 18 hole, par 72 layout is, in principle, a links-style course, with wide fairways, few trees, and lots of strategically placed bunkers.
The Maroochy River golf course is a classic risk versus reward layout. Each hole provides a safe option where a bogey, or sometimes a par, is almost certain. But the course also tempts the adventurous and ambitious to squeeze a few more meters out of the drive or to take on a devilishly placed pin. That's when the carefully placed bunkers come into play, and a player runs the risk of having their ball roll off the sides or back of the green.
What makes the Maroochy River the most challenging is the water, which is a feature of almost every hole, and the wind. It's a rare day that the wind does not affect play, but one important benefit is that it keeps golfers cool in even the warmest weather.
Open to the public and playable both walk or cart, golfers at the Maroochy River course can also take advantage of the well-stocked pro shop and the excellent driving range. Additionally, the modern clubhouse offers further leisure options such as Mini Golf and a range of bar and dining options.
